The new judicial year is marked by political uncertainty and bad omens for Spanish Justice. The Ministry of Justice still does not assume the agreements signed with LAJs and judges and prosecutors and these groups announce mobilizations in October. At the same time, justice officials also hope that their pending negotiation will be resolved. From ICAM, its dean, Eugenio Ribón explains to Economist & Jurist the concern of institutional lawyers in this context. Ribón took the lead in the CGAE to seek solutions to these Fax Lists problems, meeting with the aforementioned groups and seeking to approach the Minister of Justice, Pilar Llop , without much success. Llop has been absent from these conflicts. In this interview he gives to Economist & Jurist , the Madrid dean acknowledges the existing disagreements with the CGAE and its president Victoria Ortega , with whom he coincided this Thursday on the 30th anniversary of this publishing group, where they barely exchanged a word. “It is not acceptable that ICAM, which has always been first vice president of the CGAE, does not have that representation nor are we on the Permanent Commission .” From their point of view, after just over six months of strikes, with the courts almost collapsed and without reinforcement plans, the situation could not be more complicated.” The moment is complex because the strikes have caused irreparable damage to professionals, citizens and companies . Conflicts remain. We must demand that both the Ministry of Justice and the groups themselves that seek salary improvements be responsible.”
